Horsehair Fabric

The "special customization" series is a series that should be personalized. It is published every New Year. Our exploration begins with material, the basis of language representation. The horsehair was the fabric of choice for many designers in the 18th century, and was often used in architecture, furniture, footwear, bags, belts, cuffs, necklines, which has also won the favor of the royal family and aristocracies. To this day, horsehair fabrics are widely recognized for their unequalled luster, durability, care properties, and value. KOSSU is now one of the last companies in the world that is still weaving horsehair fabrics. The horsehair comes from Mongolia. Each horse can only regenerate hair 3 or 4 times in its life, and then it is bleached and dyed. Finally, the master sorts it by hand to make it smooth and weave it again. Bags and shoes made of horsehair are endless, feeling as smooth as silk satin, but also having the toughness of leather.
